Red Hat JBoss Open Choice offers and points to Cloud Computing with the new Java platform "JBoss Enterprise Application Platform 5.0.

JBoss Enterprise Application Platform 5.0 supports the choice of developers and aims to provide a basis for the variety of programming models and Java components, including Plain Old Java Objects, Java EE, Spring Framework, OSGi, Google Web Toolkit several frameworks for Rich Internet Applications (RIA) and dynamic languages.

The platform extends the growing number of business models from traditional lightweight Java applications, to internal and external displays based on the cloud. The development and deployment will be easier for customers who also have greater choice in programming models, protection against changes in programming models and a faster transition to new models of deployment.

"With the release of JBoss Enterprise Application Platform 5.0, not only fulfill our strategy of JBoss Open Choice, also contribute to the future of Java platforms, from traditional to cloud-based environments," said Craig Muzilla, VP of middleware at Red Hat.

JBoss Enterprise Application Platform 5.0 is available to selected customers through the program first customer ship (FCS).
